System development — updates, enhancements, audits

Long-term maintenance of ArchiMed: regular version updates, customization to the customer’s workflows, archive capacity planning, and security audits to the requirements of FSTEC (Federal Service for Technical and Export Control of Russia).

Scope of work

Six areas of maintenance

A maintenance contract is assembled from the blocks below. The scope is tailored to the customer’s budget and IT infrastructure development plan.

UPDATES
Updates and version migration
Regular minor releases, security patches, major-version migration with an agreed downtime window.
  • Minor releases — quarterly
  • Security patches — promptly
  • Major-version migration with DR rollback
TEMPLATES
Templates and hanging protocols
Development of report templates by condition and hanging protocols for modality presets, dictionary customization.
  • Templates by condition
  • Hanging protocols for each radiologist
  • Dictionaries: ICD-10, MKB, RadLex
CUSTOM DEV
Custom enhancements
Custom integrations, functional extensions, report forms, additional user roles.
  • Integration with non-standard hospital information systems (HIS)
  • Custom reports and analytics
  • API extensions for partners
SECURITY
Security audit
Preparing the system for inspections by FSTEC and Roszdravnadzor (Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare), updating the threat model, auditing the configuration of information security tools.
  • Audit to FSTEC requirements
  • Threat model update
  • Internal network pen test
CAPACITY
Archive capacity and scaling
Load forecasting, archive expansion, adding cluster nodes, optimizing replication and DR.
  • Archive growth forecast
  • Adding nodes and storage systems
  • Replication optimization
AI · MODALITIES
Connecting AI and modalities
Connecting new modalities and AI services via the open API, configuring hanging protocols for new series.
  • New modalities (PET-CT, WSI)
  • AI services via OpenAPI
  • Integration with clinical decision support systems (CDSS)

Approach

Why long-term maintenance

ArchiMed solutions are long-lived: the average service life at a healthcare facility is 8–10 years. Over that time, workloads, the modality fleet, regulatory requirements and the integration landscape all change. Maintenance keeps the system up to date and relieves the customer’s IT team of routine development tasks.

  • Quarterly roadmap — we agree with the customer’s IT team on what goes into the upcoming releases.
  • Architecture review — once a year we review capacity, fault tolerance and the redundancy scheme.
  • Preventive monitoring — we detect performance degradation before users notice it.
  • Headroom for growth — archive capacity and network bandwidth planning with a 3-year horizon.
  • Inspection readiness — we keep the documentation package and the threat model up to date.
Q1plan
Infrastructure health check
Analysis of performance, load, archive state and redundancy. Report with recommendations.
Q2plan
Architecture review
Review of the architecture, DR scheme and scaling plan. Agreeing on the roadmap for the next 12 months.
Q3plan
Security audit
Threat model update, check of the information security tools configuration, preparation for the scheduled FSTEC inspection.
Q4plan
Budget and development plan
Cost estimate for next year’s development: licenses, infrastructure, enhancements, user onboarding.
